COUNSELOR INFORMATION
Mr Robert (Bob) Charles Riggs


 

Bob has 40 years of business experience mainly involved in the distribution of building products. He retired in 2000 as Vice President of the Western Region for a national corporation and then provided counseling services to other companies until 2007.
 
Bob’s experience managing distribution centers, that were independent profit centers, provided him with complete responsibility for sales, profit margins, human resources, plant and equipment, inventory, expenses and receivables. He had eight of these locations in the Western Region, including two new startups that created sales of $200 million and supervised a team of 225 people. 
 
Customer’s included retail lumber yards, hardware stores, home centers and industrial accounts such as cabinet shops, door shops and fixture manufacturers. Bob worked with many of his company’s customers in all phases of their business including sales, merchandising, inventory and accounting.
 
During Bob’s consulting career he was mainly involved in turning around distribution centers that had lost sales and organizational structure. He provided successful results to many locations on the West Coast. In addition, Bob has started two new businesses in the past that were also involved in building product brokerage and distribution.
 
Bob has a degree in Business and Industrial Management and has lived in Reno for five years.
